middle names

Ten years ago my parents moved across the country, that same year I fell in love. Her family is four hours down the road. I see mine a few times on a good year, but we make it count. Our extended families are scattered (Arkansas, California, Montana, Arizona, Virginia) and so are some friends, but most are close. As time goes by I spend more of it photographing them, our families and our friends. I photograph the things I find with them, or something that reminds me of them, or something that reminds me of the way I feel when I’m around them. Middle Names is a record of familiarity and discovery. Old love and cherished time, its sentimentalities, and its reflections.
